Our First Anniversary

The Cooking Elf has turned One and we want to thank all of you for supporting and following us through this first year and for using the recipes. We promise to keep supplying you with new delicious recipes every week. 🙂

One year ago we have started with just a few recipes and just a few people, mainly family and friends, trying them out and giving us valuable advice and comments. And now, one year later we have published over 200 recipes, our Facebook page has over a 1000 likes and 1100 followers. We have approximately 500 unique visits per week and overall in the past year our food blog has been visited over 20.000 times. How awesome are you guys! Thank you all and we really appreciate all your support, comments and advices. We want to continue growing, experimenting and trying out new and delicious recipes that we can then share with all of you.

Our Team

Our team is not very big and comes in different age groups. We have the Patriarch of the team, who is also the “Meat Master”, the Cooking Elf or “me” and the smallest member of our team, but the most adorable and the toughest food critic, our 3 year old daughter. And together we make up “The Cooking Elf” team.

Our Process

Our process is just like in any other family or “team”. We decide on the recipe, hunt down the ingredients and start cooking. And document every step in the process, of course. 🙂 Then we taste the food, and if the dish is great and tasty and approved by all, we share the recipe with all of you on The Cooking Elf food blog.

We like to use fresh ingredients as much as possible, they taste better and much easier to work with than frozen stuff.

We are an active team and we like to go hiking, camping, bike riding and so on. And of course some of the recipes (mainly the ones that do not require oven) can also be cooked while “in the field”. 🙂

The most important part of cooking is to have fun, then the food will turn out great and tasty, and even if doesn’t, at least you had fun while making it. 🙂

We are always looking for new and delicious recipes to cook, so if you have any special recipes that you would like us to try, please get in touch with us and we will make sure to give the recipe a try. Thank you!
