Ingredients

  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 5-6 cherry tomatoes
  • lettuce
  • 4 slices cheese (I used Old Amsterdam)
  • salt, to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried spice
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes
  • 4 brioche buns
  • BBQ sauce, for the buns (or any other preferred sauce)
  • 1 medium onion, minced

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine minced onion, minced beef, the dried spices and Worcestershire sauce. Mix through until well combined.
  • Make 4 equal patties from the mixture. Keep in mind that they will shrink a little bit when frying.
  • Heat up a grill or a grill pan (our case) over medium heat, without using any oil or butter. Once the pan is hot, place the 4 beef patties on the pan and fry until nice and browned on one side. About 2-3 minutes, if you want medium rare or a couple minutes longer if you want well done.
  • Flip the patties to the other side and place the cheese slices over each of the patties. Fry until cooked to your desired doneness. The cheese will slightly melt at the edges and wrap the patties.
  • While the beef patties are frying, wash and pat dry the lettuce and tomatoes. Cut the brioche buns along the middle to make 2 halves, spread some BBQ sauce on halves. Cut the tomatoes into slices.
  • Once the patties are done to your liking, place the cheese wrapped patties on the bottom halves of the buns. Place tomato slices, lettuce and top with the other bun halves.
  • Your beef burger is complete. serve alongside French fries or any other side dish you desire. Enjoy!
