- ¾ cup butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups granulated white sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cacao powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease or line a 20 cm (8 inch) square baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl whisk together, melted butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat in the egg.
In another bowl, combine the flour, cacao powder and salt.
Gradually add the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Mix until well combined.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan. The batter will be quite thick and sticky. Even the batter and try to get it into the corners of the pan.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan. Once cooled, remove from pan and cut into 12 squares. Enjoy!
