Bulgur with Garlic and Mushrooms

This dish is light and tasty and filling. A great side dish for your dinner meal, or a complete meal in itself. Bulgur with mushrooms and garlic is a fun dish for your whole family, and it is so fast and easy to make.

Start by gathering, measuring out and chopping your ingredients.

You just need 3/4 of a cup of bulgur grain.

Secondly heat up the oil in a large frying pan, and fry the onion until tender.

Add the chopped mushrooms to the fried onion, and fry until beginning to brown. Stir often.

Add bulgur to the frying pan and continue stirring, until lightly browned.

Add water, the dried bouillon, garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper. Stir through, cover with a lid.

Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bulgur is tender and all the liquid is gone.

Remove from heat, mix in the chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cups mushrooms, chopped
  • ¾ cups Bulgur
  • cups water
  • 2 teaspoons dry vegetable bouillon
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • fresh parsley, chopped

    Add the chopped onion and fry until translucent and starting to become soft.
  • Add the chopped mushrooms to the fried onion, and fry until beginning to brown. Stir often.
  • Add bulgur to the frying pan and continue stirring, until lightly browned.
  • Add water, the dried bouillon, garlic powder and freshly ground black pepper. Stir through, cover with a lid.
  • Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bulgur is tender and all the liquid is gone.
