Doughnuts are a sweet and delicious treat. They can be done two way, baked or fried. This recipe is for the baked version that requires a doughnut pan/form. Recipe is very simple and requires just a few ingredients that most of you will have in your pantry.
For this recipe I used two silicon doughnut forms. You can find similar ones here.

Chocolate-Banana Doughnuts with Chocolate Glaze
Equipment
- Doughnut forms

- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup pureed banana
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
For the chocolate glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Spray a donut pan/form with non-stick cooking spray or grease with butter. Set aside.
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and nutmeg. Mix well. Set aside.
- In another bowl whisk together the egg, brown sugar, milk and yogurt, until well mixed.Add melted butter and vanilla and whisk until fully combined.

- Bake the doughnuts for 10-12 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the doughnuts to cool for about 10 minutes before removing from the pan onto the wire rack to cool completely.
Make the chocolate glaze:
- In a bowl combine all the ingredients for the glaze, and mix through. If the glaze is too thick add another tablespoon of milk, if too runny add a bit more cocoa powder and powdered sugar.
- After the doughnuts cooled, dip each doughnut into the glaze and allow the excess to drip off before placing the doughnut back on the wire rack for the glaze to harden a bit before serving. You can also sprinkle the glazed doughnuts with sprinkles if you want.
- Enjoy!
