Easter weekend is upon us and every year it is rush to get everything prepared, hide the chocolate eggs, cook and color eggs, stock up on food so you don’t have to go shopping for the whole weekend and cook, cook, cook some delicious food.
In different countries there are different meals being served for Easter. In Romania the old tradition was to sacrifice a lamb and cook different dishes using lamb meat. For the sweet dish you have Pască, which is a sweet pastry filled with cottage cheese based filling and raisins.
In Russia the main meat dishes are usually made from pork or fish and for sweet part we make Kulich, which is a sweet bread with raising or dried fruits and coated with icing.
In Austria they make pork for the main meal and a sweet cake in a shape of a lamb. Delicious.
Let us know what are the Easter traditions in your countries, in the comments. Thank you and Happy Easter!
